With her primary attack being one of those with the longest range in the game, it’s no surprise that Jessie will always be one of the fan favorites. The fact that her primary deals damage to up to three units before it either hits a wall or finally dies is reason enough for other brawlers to fear her.
But what can Jessie do, exactly? Here’s a list of possible matchups against Jessie, and how she’d likely fare in each of them.
Jessie vs. Barley
Even with a bigger area splash than that of Dynamike, and a super that’s extremely hard for Jessie to dodge, Barley isn’t really considered a difficult matchup for Jessie. She will take some damage from his super, but Jessie can take him on with minimal difficulty straiht after.
Jessie vs. Bo
Bo is one of those brawlers with extremely annoying and damaging powers, and Jessie will be better off staying as far away from him as she possibly could. And while Jessie is capable of about the same range as he is, she only has one ball and he has three arrows — making the odds obviously not in her favor.
Bo is a really hard opponent to fight, and Jessie’s best bet would be to dodge as many of his arrows as she possibly can while trying not miss any of the shots that she fires at him at the same time. This, coupled with making sure that she stays as far away from him as she can for as long as she could — should be enough to keep her safe.
Jessie vs. Brock
Dealing with Brock is like dealing with Colt — only this time only one rocket at a time is being shot. The rockets Brock shoots, however, deal more damage to Jessie than Colt would normally inflict.
Jessie vs. Bull
Jessie’s best defense against Bull is to run as fast as she can — far, far, away from him, and to stay that way for as long as she possibly could. Bull has a really good range and his super can and will be fatal if he ever gets the chance to go anywhere near Jessie.
Jessie vs. Colt
Fighting Colt is like fighting Shelly, only this time Jessie takes the same amount of damage no matter how far or near she is from him. But as long as she doesn’t get exposed to his super for a long time, and as long as she manages to keep moving in order to dodge his attacks while trying to shoot at him at the same time, Jessie should be just fine.
Jessie vs. Crow
Crow is, unfortunately, extremely hard for Jessie to deal with and the truth is, she will actually be better off letting another of her teammates take him on instead. His poison daggers are fatal, and his super is just like El Primo’s. But if for some reason Jessie must confront him herself, her best bet would be to try not to have his super land on her, and to dodge his attacks for as long as she possibly can.
Jessie vs. Dynamike
Dealing with Dynamike should actually be a whole lot easier for Jessie, so much so, in fact, that she can actually try to chase him down on her own. She should, however, steer clear of his dynamites’ blast radius as these can be extremely damaging to her. If, for some reason, she finds herself caught in his super, all she has to do is run away.
Jessie vs. El Primo
For Jessie, there’s no better way to deal with El Primo than to stay as far away from him as possible. It may seem like a cowardly act, but getting anywhere near El Primo’s punching radius will only leave Jessie either severely hurt or dead.
Unfortunately, there’s also little to nothing that Jessie can do if El Primo decides to hit her with his super. The best only thing that she could do is to not let this happen by staying as far away as she possibly can.
Jessie vs. Jessie
When it comes down to this, it’s all about who is a better skilled player than who. The player who gets to outsmart the other by being unpredictable is likely the player to win — and the player who gets to charge Jessie’s super first has more chances of winning.
Jessie vs. Mortis
When it comes down to fighting Mortis, it’s best for Jessie not to taunt him by using sniper shots. Doing so might just provoke him and lead him to close in on Jessie, and things will just end up badly. Jessie would be better off trading hits with him — although not in instances where he’s using his super.
Jessie vs. Nita
Nita is one of the most annoying brawlers to deal with mainly because of her Big Baby Bear — which can deal fatal damages to Jessie if she isn’t very careful. The best way for Jessie to deal with Nita and her Big Baby Bear would be to deal sniper shots from a very safe distance, making sure she is out of reach by either Nita or her bear at all times.
Jessie vs. Poco
Poco shouldn’t really be any problem for Jessie as long as he is not using his super. Poco’s short range is no match for Jessie’s, so shooting him out in the open is highly recommended.
Jessie has to be extremely careful not to find herself anywhere near him — especially in confined spaces. If she ever does, she might need to enlist the help of her teammates, or her turret — whichever help is readily available.
Jessie vs. Ricochet
Because his health is pretty low, dealing with Ricochet shouldn’t be much of a problem for Jessie… in open spaces, that is. If she finds herself surrounded by walls, she might want to get over it or just away from it as fast as she can in order to dodge his annoying ricocheting bullets.
Jessie vs. Shelly
Because Shelly’s shotgun deals far less damage from afar, it would be best for Jessie to stay as far away from her possible. Jessie’s sniper shots can be really effective against Shelly, but she might be powerless if she ever found herself in confined spaces with the latter.
Jessie vs. Spike
Spike is one of the hardest brawlers for Jessie to deal with, and taking him on by herself isn’t and never will be a good idea. What Jessie can do instead is to snipe him from behind a tank like El Primo, and make sure that she is never anywhere near him for the entire duration of the game.
